Susan M. Strunk received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a concentration in American Studies, magna cum laude, from Oakland University in 2015 and her Juris Doctor degree from Wayne State University Law School in 2018, where she served as a senior editor of the Wayne Law Review and participated in the Transnational Environmental Law Clinic as a Student Attorney.

While at Wayne Law, Susan was recognized as a Governor’s Scholar, which conferred to her a full-tuition scholarship for high academic achievement. She also received the Kimberly M. Cahill Memorial Scholarship for outstanding qualities of leadership within the community as well as a Silver Key Certificate for high academic achievement.

Prior to joining Monaghan P.C. in 2018, Susan served as a judicial intern for both the Honorable Avern Cohn of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and the Honorable Jennifer Faunce of the Macomb County Circuit Court. She worked as a legal assistant at a law firm in Troy, MI for three years while she attended Oakland University. During law school, she worked as a law clerk for an estate planning attorney in Bloomfield Hills, MI, where she gained experience in estate planning and probate administration. She also clerked at a law firm in Bloomfield Hills, MI, where she gained experience in complex commercial litigation, business disputes, and class action matters.

Susan lives in Rochester Hills with her husband, Jon, and their dog, Duke. She like spending time with family and friends, participating in local community events, volunteering at her church, and spending time in northern Michigan where she enjoys boating and snowmobiling.

Susan practices real estate law, specializing in condemnation, as well as estate planning.
